DynoCraft README ================ by Alex de Landgraaf Usage: ====== Usage under Win32 - (compile in VS) - cd bin - project.exe ../maps/test.map Usage under *nix - cd project - make - ./main ../maps/test.map What is DynoCraft? ================== When given freedom, some people go overboard. My idea of a nice game are real-time strategy games, like Warcraft and Starcraft. Hence, my CG project would have to become a real-time strategy game. The goal of DynoCraft is to destroy the computer's dinos, and this can only be done by destroying the evil enemy castle. You start off with a number of dinos, and you can make more in your own castle (it just takes some time). Along the way to your opponents castle a large number of enemy dinos are situated. They will attack any of your dinos if they happen to be next to them. Yes, the AI could still use some work. Interaction is through mouse and keyboard. You can select your dinos and castle with the left mouse button, and you can indicate where to move or attack with the right mouse button. You can select more than one dino at a time, but you will only see the stats of the first selected dino. The stats? Yes, when you select an object, you will see their statistics on the lower portion of the screen! Name, health and power are shown, as well as the possible actions (Move, Attack or Build). To build a new dino, select your castle and hit 'b'. This will start the breeding of a new dino. It does take some time, you can see how far along your new masterpiece-of-destruction is in the statistics bar. Keyboard Controls ================= Pause: spacebar Build new dino: 'b' To control the camera: North: 'w' South: 's' East: 'd' West: 'a' You can change rotation and distance to the board with 'r', 't', 'y', 'f', 'g', 'h' What features does DynoCraft have? ================================== - Hours of action-packed entertainment! - Runs on Linux and Windows environments! - Horrific battles to the death!
